One MICHELIN Star
Claudia (Bucktown/Wicker Park)
Cuisine: Contemporary
After years of searching for a brick and mortar home, Chef Trevor Teich stumbled upon this enticing Bucktown location. Claudia is named after his mother and is very cool and modern. Modern art adorn its walls, and midnight blue velvet covers the stalls. The table is ideally set across from the kitchen, where the Sync team has prepared a very creative fixed price. Bento boxes - including scallop biscuits with pickled egg yolks, cuttlefish ink madeleines, foie gras yellowfin tuna nuggets and french fries with caviar - set the stage for a refined and memorable meal. Tempura sautéed snails with black truffle and pine-flavored wood meringue are an old favorite, while pâté en croûte is flaky, buttery, and incredibly addictive.

Kasama (Bucktown)
Cuisine: Filipino
Chefs Tim Flores and Genie Kwon, both former members of Oriole's Kitchen, started their business at the restaurant, which opened at the height of the pandemic in 2020 but has grown to represent what the couple has in mind True Vision's Tasting Menu Dinner for Kasama highlights the training, experience and legacy of this talented team for an ambitious, smart and unique experience. Chefs take traditional Filipino cuisine and give it a creative and modern twist, such as B. maitake clam lotion; "Pancit" reflects Spanish influences, including spaghetti with thin squid, canned scallops and shaved serrano ham; and Chef Kwon's elegant take on Halo-Halo, which combines Asian pear granita and pandan ice cream.

Esmé (Lincoln Park)
Cuisine: Contemporary Cuisine
Chef Jenner Tomaska shows big ambitions in this airy studio with his wife and co-owner Katrina Bravo. Reminiscent of an art gallery, the minimalist, light-filled space offers high-quality tastings, designed to blur the lines between art and food, with community in mind. The multi-course menu offers a variety of dishes, each custom made by local artists. While creativity is beyond the scope of the eye, savory dishes offer unexpected combinations, such as golden Osetra caviar on sweet potato peanut miso ice cream; and finally a sweet and savory Thai spiced banana caramel glaze and a piece of braised pork ribs.

One MICHELIN Star
Galit (Lincoln Park)
Cuisine: Middle Eastern
Executive Chef Zach Engel brings his experience to this personal brand of contemporary Middle Eastern cuisine. Its fixed prices allow diners to make their own choice from a range of options, but sharing is key to covering most options. Start with salatim (spread and pickles), served with flame-kissed pita. Even familiar dishes offer surprising depth, like creamy hummus or crispy falafel with mango dressing.
